My Bridal Shower
My bridal shower was last Saturday and it was lovely! The shower was hosted by my "aunt" Mary and my "aunt" Pat at the General Warren in Pennsylvania. The setting was beautiful as was the food. Everything was wonderful, thoughtful and touching. Many thanks to all that attended and for making it a day I will never forget.

Seashells by the Seashore!!!
I am feeling so proud of myself at the moment! The wedding cake I have taken my inspiration from was covered in seashells. Our bakery said they would make the cake but we would have to supply the seashells. Before I could even stop myself I said, "I can do it!" I have never in my life made chocolate before and I thought to myself, "now I am over my head". I ordered the molds online and Saturday I made Juan go to NY Cake and Bake with me for iridescent powder to paint the chocolates. The molds came this afternoon and I took a crack at it. The shells are much whiter in person than the picture shows but overall I am very happy with the end result.

Guest Book
I have spent the last few days catching up on all the little details. My favorite one I accomplished was our guest book. It took me all day because our computer is being temperamental but it was well worth it. I used Blurb.com and it turned out beautifully. If you have never used Blurb I highly recommend it. They also make fabulous and thoughtful gifts for any occasion.

Walk this way
This is my latest dorky project! I had Juan find me a piece of wood on the beach on Sunday so I could make a "wedding this way" sign. He was almost arrested because he walked into the dunes to fetch me a piece. There is a pedestrian bridge you have to walk over to get to our ceremony and I am going to hang one there for sure. I can't help but love all the little details.

Cake
Juan and I went to the beach this past weekend and got a few things done. We finally found a wonderful bakery that understood exactly what I had in mind. This picture was the inspiration for our cake. The only problem is I have to make the shells that will decorate the cake. I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew! I think I will make the shells with white chocolate. I have already started to investigate how to do this. Wish me luck! Although this is not the best picture, this is the vintage cake topper I found.
